I'm Salvatore Casola, and together with my brother Antonino, we carry on a family tradition. Elmar was founded in 1980, when my father, after a stint on Merchant Navy ships and a subsequent stint at Fincantieri, decided to take a chance and put into practice everything he'd learned in a highly professional environment.

At that time there was almost nothing of the kind in the field of’nautical electronics, and even the onboard electrical system, was limited to providing the few essential services needed to operate the vessels. In 1994, our collaboration with the Apreamare Shipyard and our transformation from a sole proprietorship to a corporation allowed us to further deepen the technical knowledge needed to keep pace with the times.
